CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Agriculture Commission removes youth membership mandate, votes to pursue Farm Crawl. Chairman Stephen Strong presided as the seven-member commission voted unanimously to strike a requirement for three high school students to serve, instead inviting volunteers. Vice Chair Christopher Bitel and member Teesha Grant led discussions on aligning local ordinances with state agricultural statutes; the commission also voted 6-0 to tentatively schedule an October 10th Farm Crawl event allowing residents to visit participating East Hampton farms.
The commission deferred discussion of PA490 farm tax benefits to September and proposed inviting Planning and Zoning and Town Council liaisons to future meetings.
