America 250 Committee plans Declaration reading, parade float

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton's America 250 Committee coordinates Declaration reading, parade float, town picnic. Co-Chairman Kevin Reich outlined a nationwide July 8 reading of the Declaration of Independence at 6 p.m., with East Hampton's reading at Center School grounds and guest reader Neal Kirk performing. The committee approved plans for a volunteer-organized July 4 parade float in Middletown featuring East Hampton's historical photos, with the Fire Department donating a truck and driver and Flannery donating the trailer.

The committee also set a town picnic at Sears Park for August 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., coordinating with the Light up the Lake event beginning at 8 p.m.
