Board of Finance approves $58.9 million FY 2027 budgets with service cuts

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Board of Finance approves $58.9 million FY 2027 budgets with service cuts. Chairman Anthony Spagnoletti shepherded the education budget of $39,559,937 through on a 5-2 vote, with members Ted Turner and David Caterisano dissenting; the budget includes elimination of the Smart Start program. The town operations budget of $19,358,960 passed 5-2, with Alison Walck and James Radavich opposing.
Major reductions include closing the transfer station by January 2027 ($104,549 in savings), eliminating half a police officer position ($55,500), and reducing library Hoopla services ($9,800).
