Board of Finance · Meeting of March 16, 2026

CT EAST HAMPTON — Board of Finance hears $61.2M budget with falling mill rate despite operational increases. Superintendent Dr. Timothy Van Tasel presented a $40,627,676 Board of Education budget (4.81 percent increase), citing state funding reductions requiring four position adjustments and new kindergarten enrollment requiring an additional position.

Town Manager David Cox outlined a total $61,199,835 budget with a mill rate of 29.18, down due to property revaluation. Town operations face 79 percent increases in contractual obligations. The board deferred final budget deliberation until after workshops scheduled for March 17-19, with special deliberation set for March 26.
