Board scales back capital plan in revised budget recommendations

Board of Finance · Meeting of June 22, 2026

CT EAST HAMPTON — Board of Finance approves revised FY 2027 budgets totaling $61.96 million. The board scaled back the Capital Improvement Plan to $2.36 million after the initial $12.1 million referendum proposal failed to pass. The revised plan used FY 2026 surplus funds for school security ($101,400), Middle School flooring, and library heating pipe replacement.

The Town Operations budget of $19.7 million eliminated a Senior Center driver position and a Land Use Department clerical role while creating an Assistant Planner position. The Education budget of $39.9 million represented a $250,000 reduction from the prior proposal.
