CT EAST HAMPTON — Clean Energy Task Force updates sustainability initiatives, EV charging infrastructure. The committee unanimously approved prior minutes and discussed progress toward Bronze certification from Sustainable CT. Connecticut Environmental Education Center representatives presented on the state's Food Waste Assistance Program; organic material comprises 41 percent of Connecticut's 2.2 million tons of annual municipal solid waste.
The town's Plan of Conservation and Development is nearing completion with a final public visioning session June 10. Electric vehicle chargers are expected at Town Hall and Village Center parking lot by mid-July, with a load-meter study at Town Hall to explore a potential two-port upgrade.
