CT EAST HAMPTON — Clean Energy Task Force reviews renewable initiatives and schedules spring planning session. Present were Chair Russ Kaplan and members Jonathan Searles, Silas Kavalkovich, David Price, and Elizabeth Congo; Kathleen Monroe and Andrea Simmons were absent. David Price reported on green energy solution meetings with the Rockfall Foundation, Portland Clean Energy Task Force, and RiverCOG, while the task force discussed the town's Eversource solar array agreement and promoted pollinator pathway initiatives.
Benchmarking activities continue for municipal buildings, a utility pole was identified for an EV charger, and the HeatSmart energy audit program is offering free assessments through April 30 with discounted rates thereafter, with a third contractor engaged due to high demand, and task force members are advancing Sustainable Connecticut certification with grant-funded initiatives that must spend down by September 30.
