CT EAST HAMPTON — Conservation-Lake Commission approves phosphorous treatment and media outreach. Vice Chair Chuck Yenkner led the July 9 meeting in the absence of Chair Jason Hartling, guiding unanimous votes to proceed with a $29,195 aluminum chlorohydrate treatment targeting phosphorous levels that rose from 32 parts per million in May to June, and to submit a water quality letter to the Rivereast with a follow-up article request. The commission reviewed two residential plan applications, requiring clarification on stormwater management at 14 Bobby's Road while noting that 85 Lake Drive features adequate infiltration systems.
The commission has spent 86 percent of its annual budget, with a town referendum scheduled for July 14.
