Conservation-Lake Commission votes to discontinue aquaflex use in watershed
Conservation-Lake Commission · Meeting of May 14, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — Conservation-Lake Commission votes to stop aquaflex deployment in watershed. Chair Jason Hartling and the seven-member board unanimously approved discontinuation of the aquaflex material at multiple sites after members visited three locations where it had filtered contaminants. The commission also unanimously approved watershed repairs recommended by Everblu for not to exceed $11,600, including work at Bay Road location 5.
Members discussed a proposed $18,000 gate at the boat launch that would use RFID key card fobs tied to resident boat licenses; a proposal will be drafted by one member from each commission and voted on in July before presentation to Town Council.
