East Hampton Town Council approves three major budgets for fiscal year 2027.

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Town Council approves budgets totaling $62.9 million for fiscal year 2027, sending all to referendum. The General Government budget of $20,301,504 passed 6-1 with Council Member Ted Hintz, Jr. opposing. The Board of Education budget of $40,150,937 passed 5-2, reflecting a 3.58 percent increase with state supplemental funding.
The Capital Improvements Plan of $2,439,530 also passed 5-2, with a $375,000 Middle School parking lot paving project funded from unobligated reserves and added to the June 2 referendum ballot. Council Member Hintz and Council Member Tim Feegel dissented on all three spending measures. Public comment centered on concerns over rising property taxes and requests for zero-increase budgets.
