East Hampton WPCA maps future sewer service areas for updated plan

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton updates its sewer service area map, excluding Middle Haddam and Cobalt from expansion while adding the already-connected Hampton Woods development. The Water Pollution Control Authority and Plan of Conservation and Development Steering Committee, chaired by Jack Solomon, agreed that the updated map will start with verified existing sewer service area and review the 30 Long Crossing project for potential inclusion. Nine residents voiced support for limited downtown sewer expansion and opposition to dense development in residential neighborhoods.
The POCD Steering Committee will prepare a draft map and narrative for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Town Council, and public review, with formal adoption after a public hearing; the town targets completion by the end of 2026.
