EDC awards scholarship; discusses Plan of Conservation and Development

CT EAST HAMPTON — Economic Development Commission unanimously awards scholarship to Ethan Hall. Vice Chair Evan Giza will present the award at the High School Awards Night; the minutes note the other applicant used artificial intelligence to write the application essay. Town Planner Juliet Hodge reported that 81 percent of the town's tax base is residential and that commissioners must finalize POCD goals and objectives by June for the final draft, with a final visioning session scheduled for June 10 at Memorial School.

Robi Polgar, president of newly reopened Dexter's bookstore, told commissioners the transition to new ownership is tracking for reopening within weeks, with plans to expand inventory and coordinate with other Village Center businesses.
