Finance board approves $40.6M schools budget despite revaluation strain

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Board of Finance approves $40.6M schools budget on 5-2 vote. Board members Alison Walck and James Radavich voted against the fiscal 2026-2027 education budget, citing concerns about property tax strain from revaluation and the lack of large commercial development. In related unanimous votes, the board approved a $450,000 fund-balance appropriation for Middle School parking lot paving, a revised capital improvement plan reducing the proposed levy transfer from $1.6 million to $1.4 million, and a town operations budget of $20.4 million.
