CT EAST HAMPTON — Fire Commission approves $14,200 in equipment spending and advances firehouse study. The board unanimously authorized $3,200 for 64 new meeting room chairs and $11,000 for an annual gear cleaning service with Redline company, both votes 5-0. Members voted unanimously to accept the 2025 firefighter awards program numbers and discussed a proposal to lower the withdrawal age from 65 to 55 to protect Medicare benefits.
The Commission scheduled a special meeting for February 19 to narrow submissions from seven architectural firms pursuing a new firehouse design, with final interviews set for March 2.
