Firehouse committee approves 2026 meeting dates, advances facilities evaluation plan.

Firehouse Site and Development Committee · Meeting of January 5, 2026

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton's Firehouse Site and Development Committee unanimously approved its 2026 meeting schedule and moved forward with a request-for-proposal process to evaluate existing facilities and relocation options. All eight members present heard from newly introduced Firemen advisors Marty Swan and former Fire Chief Greg Voelker, who will guide the committee's long-term planning. The committee reviewed site visits to Company 1 and Company 2 buildings; Fire Chief Rob Rainville reported structural issues at Company 2 and discussed potential expansion of Company 1.

The committee pushed the contractor engagement timeline to mid-March to allow mandatory site walk-throughs and Q&A sessions for bidding companies, and committed to consulting the Town Planner on property identification and special use permit requirements.
