POCD Steering Committee sets two public discussions to shape conservation plan
POCD Steering Committee · Meeting of March 5, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton POCD Steering Committee schedules public input sessions on agriculture and open space. Chair Juliet Hodge, Planning and Zoning Official, set an Agriculture Discussion for March 11 at 6:30 PM and an Open Space Discussion for March 12 at 6:30 PM, both designed as informal resident conversations using discussion prompts. The committee will explore fee-in-lieu mechanisms allowing developers to contribute to a town open space fund for strategic land purchases and discussed agricultural open space preservation, where town-owned farmland could be leased to farmers while protected as open space.
A community visioning session is planned for early May on a Saturday morning from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the committee acknowledged the POCD will likely not meet the July adoption deadline.
