Task force advances pollinator initiative, plans spring HeatSmart campaign

CT EAST HAMPTON — Clean Energy Task Force advances pollinator initiative and spring HeatSmart outreach. Chair Russ Kaplan convened the meeting with five members present (Jonathan Searles, Silas Kavalkovich, Kathleen Monroe, Andrea Simmons) and two absent. The task force unanimously approved the February 3 minutes in a 5-0 vote.
Andrea Simmons advanced Sustainable CT initiatives, drafting a pollinator-friendly resolution for the Plan of Conservation and Development and proposing a separate website and Bee Resilient grant applications. For HeatSmart's spring campaign, members approved targeted mailings to income-eligible households, full-town outreach, joint paid advertisements with Portland, and community events at the food bank and Helping Hands thrift store. Jonathan Searles reported East Hampton is in the first batch of Voltpost electric vehicle charging installations pending technical confirmation at the library location.
