Town Council · Meeting of January 27, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — Town Council tables Police contract for resident review. Council Member Joelyn Leon moved to approve the contract but Vice Chairman Jack Solomon immediately moved to table it to the next meeting, passing 7-0, allowing residents time to see proposed changes before a final vote. In continued business, the council voted 6-1 to approve amended Town Council By-Laws with Council Member Ted Hintz, Jr. voting against, and voted 6-1 to approve moving the Fire Chief vehicle to Use Category 3 in the Employee Handbook, again with Hintz opposed.
The Senior Center and Services Task Force presented its final report recommending approval of an additional full-time staff member, reconfiguration of the task force itself, and engagement of a consultant to conduct a Senior Center needs assessment by September 2026.
