Town Council · Meeting of March 24, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Town Council approves police vehicle maintenance contract. Council members voted unanimously to award the towing and repair contract to Belltown Motors on a one-year basis, selecting the firm over Family Ford of Enfield based on Police Chief Dennis Woessner's recommendation that Belltown's rates were more favorable. The Council also unanimously approved three Police Department General Orders addressing officer misconduct complaints, family violence, and automatic license plate readers.
In a 6 to 1 vote, the Council approved Amendment 2026-1 to the Retirement Income Plan implementing police union contract provisions, with Ted Hintz, Jr. voting against. A 6 to 0 vote with one abstention set an April 7 public hearing on proposed ordinance changes transferring WPCA authority from a separate board to the Town Council itself.
