Town Council approves revised budgets totaling $59.6 million for FY 2027, sets July referenda

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Town Council approves revised $59.6 million budget and sets referendum for July 14. The council voted 5-2 to adopt the revised General Government Budget of $19.7 million and Board of Education Budget of $39.9 million, with Council Members Ted Hintz, Jr. and Tim Feegel opposing. The revised Capital Improvements Plan totals $2.4 million with a $947,800 General Fund transfer.
The council unanimously approved a one-month interim budget of $6.7 million for July operations and accepted a $40,000 federal cybersecurity grant requiring a $10,000 town match for IT penetration testing. An amended Volunteer Firefighters' Length of Service Awards Program, effective July 1, 2026, lowers normal retirement age from 60 to 55.
