Town Council approves three-year Police Union contract with wage increases and pension changes

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Town Council approves three-year Police Union contract with pension and wage changes. The contract, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, includes a three percent annual wage increase, changes to pension eligibility from 25 years to 20 years of service, and increased employee health insurance contributions rising to 15 percent in the third year, approved unanimously 5-0. Town Manager David Cox also reported that Public Works overtime spending has exceeded its $65,000 annual budget by approximately $58,000 following 26 adverse weather events since November, including a recent storm requiring roughly $25,000 in overtime costs.
