CT EAST HAMPTON — Water Pollution Control Authority approves 2026-2027 budget and holds sewer rates. The authority voted 6-0 to approve the $2,293,999 fiscal year budget and unanimously endorsed the Joint Facilities FY 2027 budget as submitted. Sewer rates remained flat at $605 per equivalent dwelling unit; the grinder pump fee held at $600; and the EDU flow value for commercial properties billed on water consumption was reduced from 200 to 180 gallons per unit effective October 1.
Town Manager David Cox reported the authority will withhold a $180,000 annual capital fund contribution and balance the spending plan through retained earnings. Member Joelyn Leon cast the sole dissenting vote on the rate approval. The authority also authorized staff to initiate water shutoffs on 14 accounts delinquent 90 or more days, with full payment required by October 1.
