Water authority moves appeals hearing to April, approves sewer extension observation.

CT EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Water Pollution Control Authority postpones unpermitted sewer appeals. The board voted 5-0 on March 3 to move the scheduled hearing from March 10 to April 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The authority also voted 6-0 to approve Resident Engineering's construction observation proposal for the Long Crossing Sewer Extension, with a senior observer assigned full-time for 16 estimated days beginning April 6.
Public Utilities Administrator Anthony DeSimone presented a draft FY 2026-27 budget recommending transfer of two full-time salaries and related costs to the Joint Facilities budget; further review is scheduled for April 7. The board declined to fund a $20,000 Middle Haddam engineering proposal, with member Dave Terry recommending developers cover up-front planning costs under new authority development standards.
