Joint Facilities Committee approves vehicle upgrade and waives septage fine
Joint Facilities Special · Meeting of February 12, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — Joint Facilities Committee approves vehicle upgrade and trims budget growth. The committee voted 5-0 to approve a $60,000 purchase for the superintendent vehicle with plow and tow package, and unanimously waived a $375 fine against a septage company. Members reviewed the FY 2026/27 draft budget and recommended changes including elimination of one employee position at approximately $160,000 and postponement of MAPS engineering and Wastewater Facilities Plan engineering.
Anthony DeSimone, Public Utilities Administrator, reported that a proposed biosolids facility could reduce the current $390,000 biosolids disposal budget to $119,000. The committee agreed changes could reduce the overall budget increase from 29.3 percent to 21.1 percent. DeSimone will present revised budget scenarios at the March 17 meeting.
