Joint Facilities approves $53K vehicle purchase; flow-meter fixes budgeted.
Joint Facilities Special · Meeting of January 20, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — Joint Facilities Committee approves $53,000 superintendent vehicle purchase. The East Hampton-Colchester panel voted 5-0 for the vehicle, with Vice Chairman John Suprono and member Peter Villa supporting the motion led by Chair Mark Barmasse. The committee also adopted a 50/50 interim flow split between the two towns for FY 2026/27, a revision prompted by persistent flow-meter calibration problems; meters will be re-calibrated multiple times per year going forward.
Public Utilities Administrator Anthony DeSimone presented the draft FY 2026/27 budget, which includes increases in medical insurance, software maintenance, uniforms, and bond payments, while Colchester Department of Public Works will assume mowing at Prospect Hill Pump Station to address tick-control concerns.
