Water Committee reviews partnership options with Connecticut Water Company
Water Committee Meeting · Meeting of March 4, 2026
CT EAST HAMPTON — Water Committee evaluates partnership pathways with Connecticut Water Company on municipal system project. Jack Solomon chaired the meeting as David Peeling and Lauren Bergman of CWC presented three options for system expansion: town ownership and operation, town ownership with CWC operations, or joint funding via an Installation and Service Agreement. Under the ISA model, CWC estimates contributing up to $15 million at full buildout serving 3,000 customers, though the actual contribution depends on design, phases, and confirmed customer count.
The committee emphasized that accurate customer counts are essential to securing CWC funding commitments and that policy decisions must align with town-preferred outcomes.
